Using a floor cleaner machine really takes the effort out of cleaning larger floor areas. It is not always the easiest of task cleaning a floor especially if there is a lot of dirt and debris there. Smaller domestic machines can be purchased for about $150 and can often operate in several modes -scrubbing, polishing, waxing and buffing. Generally the change in mode is achieved by changing the brushes or pads on the machine. These smaller machines normally have 2 brushes or attachment points that often contra-rotate for stability. In some cases the brushes remain in place and the waxing, polishing or buffing pad or boot is placed directly over the brush head. This avoids the need to remove the brushes and provided that the attachment mechanism is secure it is quite effective in the home situation.

Choose The Best Supplier
For a more commercial situation it is probably best to go directly to a supplier who specializes in such equipment. Names like Clarke, KArcher and Hako are obvious examples. But there are many more manufacturers who make equal quality machines. These range from smaller hand operated equipment for small to medium sized areas. Then for larger areas a ride on machine may be more appropriate.

Choose The Right Machine
Some of the more commercial hand operated machines have one larger brush or disc pad. And in this case there is more of a tendency for them to have a mind of their own. The inexperienced operator usually finds that they take off in a sideways direction with little warning when they first start up. However with practice and perhaps a little initial guidance from someone more experienced the skill soon arrives.

Ride-on machines are somewhat more sophisticated and generally some tuition will be required to start. But once this is received an operator can cover large areas easily with little or no effort. Machines such as these are often seen in late at night in airports, super-markets and other high traffic public places.
